The Herbfarm Farm and Gardens

For much of the year, The Herbfarm's own kitchen gardens and nearby farm supply the restaurant with an ever changing harvest of common and unusual produce.

Paul Houser

Meet Paul Houser, The Herbfarm's Head Farmer

Paul Houser is in charge of The Herbfarm’s farm, which is located about a mile south of the restaurant. Paul is responsible for growing year-round crops that are both typical (and sometimes atypical) of the plants that naturally grow in this region.

Paul studied Cultural Geography at the University and enjoys the stories and poetry of Native Americans. His work experience has taken him throughout the Western United States. He is skilled not only in horticulture, but also in animal husbandry. Paul is a Certified Nursery Professional, a Certified Professional Horticulturalist, and an active Professional Farrier. He is not only well-versed in using tractors and hand tillage, but is also knowledgeable about real "horse power".
