Overview
Take lead, under Head Farmer/Gardener in design of food related plantings of raised beds, pots, and surrounding public display gardens and indoor plants at The Herbfarm Restaurant site so gardens are presentable for guest viewing, weddings and tours at all times with representative plantings of herbs & vegetables on current menu. Coordinate with Willows Lodge’s Department of Natural Beauty. Combine creativity and function. Additional hours may be available supporting harvest and other farm tasks.

• Maintain a “someone was just there” look at all times
• Hard, manual labor
• Tidiness and safety with tools & hoses in a public garden setting
• Work on own and as member of a team at farm and garden
• Use greenhouse and farm facilities to support Kitchen Garden needs
• Care and training of pet pigsExperience and Qualifications
• 2+ years experience in horticulture/gardening preferably in the Pacific Northwest with vegetables, herbs & edible flowers.
• Strength--able to lift 30# repeatedly in the course of a day
• Physically capable--wheelbarrows, shoveling, hauling, bending, weeding, composting
• Attentive to details
• Bed and landscape design experience
• Asks questions, asks for help, and willing to learnSkills needed

Hours vary with the seasons. Extra hours may be available at the farm.
